The former Lewis's and Allders department store building in Leeds is being acquired by property fund manager Highcross from Capital and Counties in a [pounds sterling]70m (USD140mn) deal. The former department store building - now known as Broad Gate - is currently undergoing a major re-development and will become a 300,000 sq ft office and retail scheme.
When completed in December this year, Broad Gate will provide 168,750 sq ft oADVERTISEMENTf Grade A office accommodation and four large prime retail units. The property will also provide the largest office floor plates in Leeds, at around 36,000 to 39,000 sq ft.
