TO a vegetarian, veal is the ultimate anathema. Even to the prudent carnivore it is fraught with difficulty. There is no question that crated veal - just like cheap battery chickens - is an inhumane and unnatural way of producing food.

But there is no reason for the process to be inhumane - just look at Janet Street Porter on Gordon Ramsey's F Word show.

I find it very hard to buy veal. The only way is through the internet and specialist producers - if there are farmers in Wales willing to produce veal, I would love to know about them.
