The shelves of the video store are filled with examples of classic TV shows turned into forgettable movies: "The Honeymooners," "Sgt. Bilko," "Bewitched," "The Beverly Hillbillies," "I Spy." Every once in a while someone gets it right. Amazingly, the people behind "Get Smart" got smart and got it right.
The 1960s spy comedy was a spoof of the James Bond movies and the numerous spy series then on the air. Created by Mel Brooks and Buck Henry, and personified by Don Adams, Maxwell Smart became a clownish version of the suave Bond.
