NEW YORK, Feb. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- American Express Travel Related Services Company, Inc. (NYSE: AXP) today announced it has signed a worldwide licensing agreement with Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq-NNM: MSFT) to use its software to enhance the security of American Express(R) Card payments on the Internet. On-line transactions with any American Express charge card or Optima(R) credit card will use Microsoft's version of the industry-supported Secure Electronic Transactions (SET) protocol.
The SET protocol will provide highly encrypted communication between Cardmembers and merchants to American Express, both in the United States and in most other countries. In ...
