Government relaxes emergency power rules in selected areas
Dhaka, Jun 20 (PTI) Bangladesh government today relaxed further the tough emergency rules allowing street marches and rallies in specific places as election commission announced schedules for local government polls in four cities and municipal areas in nine districts.
An official handout, which immediately followed the EC announcement, said the Emergency Power Rules (EPR) was relaxed to facilitate campaigns for the upcoming corporation polls in four cities other than Dhaka and southeastern port city of Chittagong and municipal elections in nine districts.
