WORCESTER - Hours after finding out that he wouldn't be allowed to fight on the main event of his own card, three-time world champion Jose Antonio Rivera decided late Friday night to postpone "for three or four weeks" this Saturday's boxing show at the Lincoln Street armory.
The show on Saturday was to be the first put on by Rivera's fledging promotional firm, Rivera Promotions.
The 35-year-old fighter had been told a day earlier by the Massachusetts Boxing Commission that he couldn't stage his comeback fight on the show because bylaws prevent a promoter from fighting on the same card that he promotes.
