PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 4, 1996--Hewlett-Packard Company today announced the HP OmniBook 5500 notebook PC, which is based on Intel's new 133MHz Mobile Pentium(R) processor. The new notebook builds on the top-performing HP OmniBook 5000 notebook PC series, integrating powerful new components such as a quad-speed CD-ROM drive, 12.1-inch viewable-image color display and a new 4 megabit-per-second (Mbps) infrared port.

Volume shipments of the HP OmniBook 5500 CT 5/133 notebook PC Model 1350 are slated for early May; pricing will be announced in mid-April.
