THE swimming pool at Wilton School has re-opened this week after being out of commission for nine months.
But waves of dissent are already rippling over the decision by Scottish Borders Council to make the facility only available to children with additional needs.
And there are no immediate plans to extend its use to include other Wilton pupils, let alone children from the wider Hawick community.
Head teacher Ian Topping had sought an assurance that allowing Wilton pupils to use the pool would be looked at in any future consideration of extending opening hours.
