Colombian state-owned power company Empresa de Energia de Bogota (EEB) has won an auction to build a $136 million natural gas distribution network in southern Peru and operate it for 30 years, Dow Jones Newswires reported.
EEB, in a consortium with gas pipeline operator Transportadora de Gas del Interior (TGI), will distribute natural gas from the Camisea gas fields located in the eastern jungle of Peru to the cities on Peru's southern coast.
Potential industrial customers include steelmaker Corporacion Aceros Arequipa, a tin refinery owned by Minsur, iron miner Shougang Hierro Peru and several ...
