Sahaj completes final IM norm

Balatonlelle (Hungary), Jun 23 (PTI) Former world under-10 champion Sahaj Grover completed his third and final International Master norm in the closed IM tournament of Balatonlelle chess festival which concluded here.

The 12-year-old Delhi-lad finished clear second in a field of six players in the double round-robin contest and earned the norm after the end of the ninth round that he drew with IM Petran Pal of Hungary.

Sahaj will be officially awarded the IM title when he crosses the 2400 ELO rating barrier which is a must for the second highest degree in chess after the Grandmaster title.
