DAAA loses its executive director after 18 years.(Guest Editorial)(Obituary)

On December 10, 2007, the world of disability sports lost one of its most beloved and tireless figures. Janet Brown, the Executive Director of the Dwarf Athletic Association of America (DAAA), passed away after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Wendell and her children Owen, Lucy, and Adam. Janet was an indefatigable advocate, working to promote opportunities for people with dwarfism on both sides of the Atlantic. In addition to her job at DAAA--a post that she held for nearly two decades--Janet helped to create the Dwarf Athletic Association of Great Britain in the country from which she originally hailed.
