Stroke mechanics of swimmers with permanent physical disabilities.

When observing the swimming stroke mechanics of persons with permanent physical disabilities, it is apparent the anatomic and neuromuscular deficits present result in the evolution of unique movement patterns in the water (Daly & Vanlandewijck, 1999; Prins 1988). Physical limitations for those with disabilities can influence swimming mechanics.
