DULUTH - Wesly Ngetich was an impatient man, Stephen Muturi was saying, smiling as he recounted the memories. "He is not the kind of guy who will sit down and see how things are going," Muturi said. "He is impatient, with everything. I think that's what happened."
Muturi was talking about his friend in the present tense, perhaps because it's hard to accept that Ngetich is dead.
A year ago, in his third trip to Duluth, Ngetich won his second Grandma's Marathon. Seven months later, on Jan. 21, he was killed in Kenya. Ngetich, attempting to mediate differences between two ethnic groups, was ambushed and shot ...
