Wirksworth students made an emotional trip to a concentration camp to recall the horrors of the Holocaust.

Sixth form pupils Lauren Tomlinson and Crystal Holmes of Anthony Gell School visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in Poland as part of a project focusing on the Holocaust.

They are now hoping to present their experiences to others studying Nazi Germany and are making a display of powerful poems from survivors and camp prisoners.
