Brigham's Ice Cream reports that it is considering a number of strategic options, including the possible sale of the company or its merger with another vendor. The 94-year-old company, considered a New England institution, points to rising fuel prices and ingredients costs as the reasons for behind its having to review so drastic a move. Brigham's, based in Arlington, MA, operates 21 Massachusetts restaurants as well as distributing its Brigham's ice cream products and Elan Frozen Yogurt through grocery stores and supermarkets throughout New England.
