FIGHTING fit ladies turned out in force, and in every shade of pink, to take part in this year's Cancer Research Race For Life.
More than 2,600 competitors, the majority in fancy dress, gathered in Cannon Hill Park to run, jog, or walk the 5km course.
Many of them had battled cancer themselves or known someone who had suffered from the illness and organisers were hoping to beat their fund-raising target of pounds 165,000.
University of Birmingham students, Emma Simon, aged 19, and her friend, Fiona Paterson, aged 20, both from Selly Oak, dressed up as glittering silver disco balls for the occasion.
