Huawei Technologies announced that has successfully deployed what it claims is the industry's longest 40G commercial transport network. Built for TransTeleCom (TTC), a top-three fixed telecom carrier in Russia, the 1,141km network connects Moscow and St. Petersburg and requires no electric regeneration.
The network uses Huawei's patented SuperWDM technologies to achieve ultralong-haul transmission without electrical regeneration at distances of over 1,500km.
