WORK to investigate areas of land in Filey affected by last year's floods has begun.
Scarborough Council has started its investigations in Martin's Ravine and will move on to the rear of Royal Parade chalets and the land next to Crescent Hill.
Two drilling rigs have been put on site as part of the investigations and work will include drilling a number of boreholes to a depth of 30 metres.
Cllr David Chambers, the council's cabinet member with responsibility for finance, is considering whether to construct a temporary path and fencing in Martin's Ravine after the investigations there have been completed.
