Urinary dysfunction occurs in about 80 percent of people with MS. And, as with most other manifestations of MS, the symptoms vary in severity and duration,
There is a particular hazard in urinary symptoms because people with MS all too often attribute these problems to causes common within the general population--such as sexual activity or postponing urination until the last minute. Then, instead of seeing their doctor, they self-treat by restricting fluids and relying on protective products.
People with MS need to see a red flag when urinary symptoms are experienced. They are potentially dangerous in MS since they can lead to permanent kidney damage. ...
