CLUBS and players from all around the district have been paying tribute this week to one of the local cricket scene's best-known faces.
The Nidderdale League's Honorary Treasurer, Neil Burtwistle, died at home on Sunday aged 57.
Neil had suffered a very mild heart attack some days earlier but was expected to make a full recovery, and, having been cleared to do so by the doctors, was greatly looking forward to playing cricket again.
A popular member of Burton Leonard CC, Neil was a true cricket fanatic, and his passion for the game took him all around the world in support of the English team.
