TRIBUTES have been paid to local sporting stalwart William Ratcliffe (Bill), who died suddenly last week aged 65.
Starting on the wing at Harrogate Rugby Club, he switched codes and also played on the wing at Harrogate Town for a few seasons before moving to local league soccer at Hampsthwaite.
Bill's summer game was cricket.
He had been a life long member at Hampsthwaite CC playing from 1959 to 2001 and where he has been club chairman for the last 10 years.
