LIBERAL Democrat councillors, who now run Sheffield Town Hall, are to go on training courses at a cost of thousands of pounds
Senior members are to be given a "tailored programme of support and advice" by the Improvement and Development Agency, which trains councillors nationwide and is backed by the Local Government Association.
The Labour opposition says it will not be taking part.
"We discussed it in the Labour group but decided not to participate in very expensive training at a time when staff training is being cut by [pounds sterling]300,000," said Labour leader Jan Wilson.
"We have declined to take part because the courses cost such a huge amount of ...
