Belarus' joint venture in Venezuela, Petrolera BeloVenesolana, plans to produce around 18,000 b/d of oil this year, rising to roughly 40,000 b/d by 2010.

The output will be sold on world markets, with the proceeds used to buy oil for Belarus closer to home, the deputy chairman of Belarus state concern Belneftekhim, Mikhail Osipenko, said.

Right now, Petrolera BeloVenesolana is working in Venezuela's Guara Este and Lago Medio fields. Output will rise after it adds three more fields to its portfolio.
