Senate Democrats Try To block No-Bid TSAs.

A group of US Democratic senators led by Charles Schumer of New York is appealing to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to block the award of TSAs without a competitive and transparent bidding process. If that appeal, which Schumer's office said it faxed in the form of a letter to the State Department on June 23, is not heeded, the senators will try to cut off financing for as-yet-unspecified programmes in Iraq which are not directly in support of US troops.
