IN THE wake of a recent ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court on lethal injections, Amnesty International is calling on U.S. leaders to re-evaluate the nation's stance on the death penalty.
In April, the Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of Kentucky's procedures for lethal injections, an execution method used in about three dozen other states. The Baze v. Rees ruling cleared the way for the resumption of executions in the United States, which had been suspended since September 2007.
