Mar. 9--Target Stores confirmed Friday that it is finally invading the East Coast, the last major region of the country in which it doesn't have a presence.
The discount subsidiary of Minneapolis-based Dayton Hudson Corp. will open two stores in Virginia on Sunday -- in Potomac Mills and Fredericksburg. Target plans to open 28 stores in the East Coast market this year, entering the Washington, D.C., and the Buffalo, N.Y., metropolitan areas.
