The shock over Adam Peterson's arrest Thursday in the murder of Joel Marino was especially great among the people he grew up with in the Stillwater, Minn. area, who said they never thought he was capable of such violence.
"My reaction was complete shock, and it was the same for everybody else I've talked to," said Dan Lamanna, who has known Peterson since Little League baseball days, graduated from high school with him and attended UW-La Crosse and UW-Madison with him.
