This isn't fair - losing two giants in a week; first Tim Russert and now George Carlin.
George Carlin was an American litmus test. For many conservatives, he was a disrespectful, foul-mouthed comedian. To most everyone else, however, he was a comic genius who made fun of the absurdities in life that no one else even dared talk about. His routines became part of our national consciousness and changed the way we saw the world.
