DUP MLA for South Antrim Trevor Clarke has expressed concern over, what he claims is inaction by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in relation to the need for off-farm solutions to disposal of poultry waste.
Speaking after raising the issue at Question Time in the Assembly Chamber, Mr Clarke said he pointed out to the minister that literally thousands of jobs are in the balance across Northern Ireland.
He added: "I believe that it is absolutely vital that a resolution is found to this issue but I was absolutely appalled at the minister's complete disregard for the crisis which is building within the agricultural industry. I think that those farmers ...
