ASDA shoppers in the newly revamped Kendal store kick started a charity appeal which aims to raise funds to help the people of Burma affected by the recent cyclone. A promising amount of [pounds sterling]150 was raised during the launch weekend.
As part of the launch weekend Asda Kendal, on Burton Road, had a variety of fun activities and competitions in store. In return for a donation to the Burma appeal, face painters were on hand to transform children into anything they could imagine! Delighted butterflies and lions could be seen in the aisles of Asda tucking into sweeties provided for the in-store party.
