NEW YORK -- Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation (NYSE:RL) today announced the promotion of Wayne Meichner to President and Chief Operating Officer of Polo Retail Group, effective July 1, 2008. Mr. Meichner replaces Jeff Sherman, who is retiring from the Company. Mr. Meichner will report to Ralph Lauren, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and Roger Farah, President and Chief Operating Officer, of Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation. In his new role, Mr. Meichner will be responsible for the strategic management and development of Polo Ralph Lauren's domestic retail concepts, including Ralph Lauren stores, Polo Factory Stores, RalphLauren.com, Rugby and RRL.
