When I was asked to author the introduction to this supplement of the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, I accepted without hesitation. The opportunity to review, evaluate, and discuss new clinical information about treatment of the most common disorder encountered in dermatology practice, acne vulgaris, is one that I could not pass up.
