Eric Mitchum returns to Eugene this week celebrating a major moment in his life. Against long odds, he hopes to celebrate another milestone at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials.
The former University of Oregon star hurdler will compete next week at Hayward Field for the first time since graduating in 2006 following a collegiate career that featured three Pac-10 titles and six all-American honors.
As he makes a push toward the finals of the 110-meter hurdles, Mitchum will be among the favorites of the Hayward crowd, and his biggest fan in the stands will certainly be his new fiancee, Keenan Yanit.
