The island of Sri Lanka is serendipitous for a thousand reasons. However, the geographical location of Sri Lanka is of high strategic importance. Throughout her history Sri Lanka has been a much sought after destination. However, this paper is to highlight its potential as a future telecommunication hub.

I wish to make the following sugesstions: The first of is to introduce the WiMax technology in Sri Lanka. Thus far it is most suited technology to cater to our terrain and use. Anyone familiar with telecommunication technologies would agree why WiMax best suits us, with its high capacity and mobile capability.
