MILLBURY - Millbury and Sutton selectmen have signed an intermunicipal agreement allowing Sutton to connect into Millbury's sewer system, which is linked to the Upper Blackstone Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The agreement has been a long time coming. A previous intermunicipal agreement expired in 2005, and the two towns have been negotiating for three years, interrupted by administration changes along the way. With Sutton hiring Town Administrator James A. Smith in September, and Millbury hiring Town Manager Robert Spain in January, the two towns have finally reached an agreement.
