The birds and other animals have won the battle.
We don't really live in an isolated, woody area. In fact, our home is located on a populated street, but with each home separated spaciously by well-kept lawns. Behind virtually every home is a large wooded area separated by a back lawn and a small stream.
Unfortunately, we are being overwhelmed, especially by birds and other small animals. At the current rate of occupancy, we soon shall be driven from home of many, many years.
