ESA Sentinel-3 eo satellite: future eo capability greatly increased.

The European Space Agency and Thales Alenia Space signed a [euro]305 million contract on 14 April to provide the first Sentinel-3 earth observation satellite, devoted to oceanography and land-vegatation monitoring, as part of the European Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) programme. Thales Alenia Space is responsible for the satellite's design, development and integration.
