In a move which contradicts the proposal of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to have one centralized agency for launching Mobile Number Portability solutions in India, the Department of Telecom is planning to choose four regional MCHAs (Mobile Number Portability Clearing House Administrator) and Number Portability database (NPDPs) citing antimonopoly and security reasons.
