POLICE are urging householders in the greater Ballymena area to be on their guard, following two reports of attempted distraction burglary.
The first incident happened at The Commons in Broughshane where a man called at a house claiming that young people in her garden had a large sum of money and asked the occupants to check that their cash hadn't been stolen.
After the man had left in a waiting silver car the householder discovered a window in another room had been opened.
The second incident took place at Whitehill Cottages in Cloughmills and here a man carrying a large sum in cash entered a house uninvited and demanded more money from the householder.
