NORTHERN Ireland's Culture Minister has hit back at criticism in Londonderry of the DUP's position on the Irish language.
SDLP councillor Mark H. Durkan this week accused the DUP of "using its grip on the Assembly to systematically attack everything to do with the Irish language."
He said the DUP is at present planning to put a motion to the Assembly objecting to every new Irish-medium school in Northern Ireland.
"This is part of the same strategy that has them blocking the Irish Language Act, complaining about the Irish Language Broadcast Fund and generally seeking to block the whole equality agenda at every turn," he said.
