A WAKEFIELD woman completed her ninth Race for Life despite having knee injury.
Karen Town, of Springfield Close, Clayton West, had to walk the 5km course at Greenhead Park in Huddersfield after damaging cartilage in her leg earlier in the year.
She managed to complete the event in under 50 minutes and raised more than [pounds sterling]150 for Cancer Rese-arch UK.
Mrs Town, 53, first joined the event in June 2000 in memory of her brother, Philip Molyneux, who died of testicular cancer in 1987 at just 29.
She has since raised more than [pounds sterling]2,600 for the charity, which is one of the world's leading independent cancer research organisations.
