For some who live, work and play in Madison and its immediate suburbs, it may come as a surprise to learn that the capital city still sits smack dab in the middle of one of the most productive agricultural regions in Wisconsin.
In 2006 Dane County farmers produced 27 million bushels of corn for grain -- more than any other county in a state that is internationally renowned for its lush farmland.
