Bio goes global: convention the place to make deals, land investments.(BIO International Convention )

Nowhere is the global reach of the biotechnology industry more apparent than during its annual meeting, where the sound of foreign tongues fills hallways and flags of every nation splash color on a convention center.

Foreign visitors accounted for a third of the more than 20,000 attendees at the BIO International Convention last week at the San Diego Convention Center, a trend that BIO President and Chief Executive Officer James Greenwood said would continue as biotech firms forge partnerships and set up outposts across the globe.
