During the past four years, telecom service providers have invested more than $8 billion in Pakistan. Investments in the mobile segment alone have contributed 73 percent to the total investments.
The mobile sector witnessed investment of more than $2.7 billion, while nearly $7.8 million was invested in the local loop sector in 2006-07. LDI operators put in nearly $603 million during the period, representing 15 percent of the total investment.
