Penetration of broadband services has reached 50 percent, according to Qatar Telecom (Qtel) COO Sheikh Fahad bin Jassim Al Thani, who was speaking at the Global Wireless Broadband 2008 Summit. He said that this increase in broadband uptake has caused Qtel to face several bandwidth-related challenges as users are increasingly using streaming and peer-to-peer applications.
