Article: M&Ms advertisement spurs (birthday) suit.(End Page)(Brief article)

New York's not big enough for the Naked Cowboy and the blue M&M.

Well-known street performer Robert Burck, also known as the Naked Cowboy, is suing M&Ms candy maker Mars Inc. for $6 million for trademark infringement, according to the lawsuit in U.S. District Court in New York.

Mr. Burck, who over the past 10 years has been routinely seen in Times Square wearing white cowboy boots, a cowboy hat and tight white underwear while playing a white guitar, is irked that Mars used his likeness to promote its popular candy. Mr. Burck filed the suit in February after video billboards in Times Square displayed a blue M&M dressed in his signature skimpy outfit.
