The Chicago Cubs' best start in more than 30 years is stirring dreams of a World Series and a financial bonanza for all things Wrigley.
With Major League Baseball's best record prior to last Friday's games, the Cubs are a real threat to end a championship drought now in its 100th year. Still, capitalizing on World Series success is no sure thing: While the Boston Red Sox have enjoyed a 40% surge in team revenue since their 2004 title, the Chicago White Sox's on-field stumbles have contributed to a 24% decline in attendance at U.S. Cellular Field from a peak following their 2005 championship.
