I don't envy the position the Health Insurance Association of America finds itself in now vis-a-vis the health reform bill sponsored by Sen. Nancy Landon Kassebaum, R-Kan., and Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass.
Part of the problem is the "reasonableness" of the bill itself; the other part of HIAA's dilemma is having to articulate why it objects to one portion of the bill.
The bill guarantees portability of health insurance from job to job and HIAA says it has no problem with this. Good thing, too, since this issue strikes immense resonance with the public and lawmakers.
