Abbott 'flattered' at skipper invite.

HAVERHILL Rovers' new captain said he was flattered to be asked to lead his home town's side this season.

The defender, who trained for the first time this week after returning from holiday, will take on the role from Marcus Hunt and has targeted a decent league campaign and three good cup runs.

Abbott, 25, also spoke in the press for the first time about his horrific double leg-break that he suffered in October 2006 while playing in an FA Cup match against Kidsgrove Athletic but he now hopes to move on from that and do something successful for Rovers fans to remember him by.
