Apprentices carve out a bright future.

AN award-winning apprentice is building a great future for himself after landing the job of a lifetime.

Mark Arnold, 21, is carving out a future for himself after being voted Apprentice of the Year in the Tees Valley Further Education Awards.

He has also been offered a full time job by town developer Yuill Homes after completing the ground-breaking Second Chance Apprenticeships initiative.

Mark is one of two Hartlepool men who have turned their lives around by carving out promising new careers with the construction company thanks to the programme, which is being piloted in the Tees Valley by a consortium of five further education colleges.
